GROWTH

LONG TERM GOALS

The financial objective of Siim is to be operating at or close to break-even cash flow by the end of the third year, with steady growth over the next five years. We aim to be profitable from Year Four onward. The reason for this extended development period is that we recognise the difficulty of operating a small business in an economically unstable environment. We are confident, however that if we can find investor(s) we will be able to enter the global market as a viable entity.

STEPS FOR ACHIEVING GOALS

Siim's strategy for achieving our goals consists of five major points:

•  Seek Investors and/or Representation
In our current economic climate it may be difficult to attract the type of investment needed to make the Siim line profitable, however it is necessary that either investment partners or venture capital funding be found as much of the further develpment depends on funding. At the same time, efforts will be made to attract boutiques or stores in the market areas identified earlier to carry the Siim line, providing potential gateways for the line into these markets.

•  Establish an efficient public relations campaign
This will be the key to producing state-of-the art publicity materials and determining where these materials should be placed for optimum visibility.

•  Recruit well-trained, enthusiastic staff
The individuals recruited will go through a focused training program to ensure that they will be able to produce well-finished garments with the minimum of material and time wasted. Siim is passionate about well-made, unusual and versatile clothing, and we intend to foster this enthusiasm through constant product development and skill training. We will only recruit those individuals who can share this vision. We also want the work environment to have an exciting and enjoyable atmosphere, as we will all be working long hours.

•  Deliver superior products
Superior products require superior materials and workmanship. Siim has been refining some of the more popular of her original designs to make them more suitable for mass production. Many of the cuts have been simplified for ease of assembly, and therefore the real selling point on many of these pieces, and that which differentiates them from the rest of the market is the fabric and detailing. Fabrics are predominantly 100% silks, 100% Linens and 100% Cottons. It will be necessary to establish a reliable supply of these materials.

•  Maintain cutting edge designs
The fourth step is to maintain cutting edge, classic designs. At the moment Siim associates with a group of creative young people (artists, sculptors and photographers), who provide her with much of the inspiration for new work. Travel has also been a major source of inspiration to Siim, and like many established designers, exotic or historic destinations have provided an important source for the exploration of new concepts or rediscovery of old concepts.
